Simplify Complicated Workflows with Barr EOM (Workflow)'s Process Designer

Barr EOM's Process Designer has an intuitive, visual user interface that allows administrators to easily configure a string of Actions which happen in sequence.  A tree-view on the left side displays all available Actions, which can be dragged onto the canvas in the middle of screen, and configured via the grid on the right side.  The complete sequence is saved as a Process, which can then be associated with any type of document passing through Barr EOM.  The association occurs either in Business Rules where the full complement of conditions is available or at the Source, when a document arrives.

Actions commonly used in Barr EOM (Workflow) Processes are:

  • Searching and replacing
  • Inserting banners
  • Inserting headers or footers
  • Pre-pending and appending of files
  • Translating code pages
  • Running scripts
  • Sending notification emails
  • Transforming the format of documents
  • Inserting and replacing PJL commands
  • Applying FCBs

Specific configurations of Actions that are often used can be saved as pre configured items available for reuse.  User rights determine who has rights to use this powerful too.

Creating workflows is as easy as drag-and-drop. Many processes are predefined and their properties can be quickly set in the Action configuration area.
